Hello! and Icons

What a great idea for a comm!

So, may I ask, what does everyone have as UU-themed icons? Here are mine, and you're welcome to take any of them, though please check the credits and preserve the credit. I didn't make them; I found them.



What I'd like to have:
- Standing on the Side of Love
- That cartoon with stick figures bowing to a huge coffee mug. Do you know the one I mean?
- The Interweave rainbow triangle (I might be able to find that one on the web to steal)
- The window from the Rockford church. I have a pendant of that from UniUniques. It's a circle with emblems from major world faiths all around the edge and a chalice in the middle.

Hmm, now that I'm thinking about it, wouldn't a Principles theme icon set be cool? *ponders*

Oh, cool! I have, uh, the Canadian one I'm using here. Well, I also have access to this one:

which is free for anyone to use (I mean, I screen-capped it from some church's website somewhere) and this IDIC chalice, which I adore:

which a friend made for me at my request, and which I'd er, well, rather not share unless it's really important to someone.

What's the "Interweave rainbow triangle"?

And following up on your description of the window from the Rockford church: the social hall at the Montreal church has a series of six windows high on the east wall, with symbols for Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism on the left, and Taoism, Islam, and Judaism on the right, and between the groups of three is a glass panel with a flaming chalice. I love the effect, and when I give tours of the church the windows are the second thing I show people, after the display of photos of every building the congregation has met in since its founding. (We're the oldest Unitarian church in Canada, so showing off our history like that is fun.) I think I've seen icons of such a design somewhere, but I'm concerned that -- like lovepeaceohana's, I'm afraid -- the design would be difficult for me to make out at 100x100.

That IDIC icon is da bomb!

The Interweave triangle is upside down with rainbow stripes. If you put a flame on top, like this lapel pin:

you have a chalice.

And here's a pin of the Rockford church window:



Why don't I just make icons out of those images, you ask? Good question! Why don't I? ;)

The best way I've found to make icons is to use the chalice fonts listed on the UUA website as a starting point.
